Viva Veolia is an ongoing project based at Blacka Moor nature reserve. Young people (aged between 16 and 25) can volunteer with sheffield Wildlife Trust on conservation tasks and projects to protect the natural habitat of the heathland.

Blacka Moor is a treasured haven for wildlife on the edge of Sheffield. It is a patchwork of heathland, woodland and scrub. The Viva Veolia project gives young people opportunity to:

  • practice their survival skills on Blacka Moor
  • meet new people and develop teamwork skills
  • explore the nature reserve and it's varied habitats
  • learn practical conservation skills
  • practice safe tool use, and tool maintenance
  • gain accreditation through the John Muir Award Scheme
